Owner/ Artist Chere' Funderburg first fell in love with the art of baking and treat making in the deep south while living in Mobile, Alabama and traveling weekly to New Orleans, Louisiana. She was welcomed into the world of home bakers and chefs who have been perfecting recipes that had been handed down for generations.

         It was here, that under the guidance of the community, and from these interactions that her love of baking and treat making was cultivated and her eagerness to perfect her craft was nurtured.

 

She would soon be inspired by her love of baking to start her first bakery business under the name of Little Miss Petit Four. Eventually, relocating back to Atlanta, Georgia, where she went on to perfect her craft and trying to build the Little Miss Petit Four brand before eventually conceding that she was unable to sustain due to COVID-19. 

       

 Although Chere' was no longer baking for her personal business, she did not give up on her dreams or let her skills go to waste. She continued her passion for baking and creating by taking a job at Publix Bakery as a decorator, where she continued to to build on her skills and learned more of the business side of owning a bakery. She moved up quickly to Bakery Manager having arrived with a plethora of skills already under her belt.

           While she says she will always cherish her Publix family, it seemed management took her further away from what she was most passionate about, and that was the actual craft. In 2025, WE ARE BACK! Having parted ways with Publix, it was time to continue building and investing in her dream.

     

    This year help support her dream by Following, Liking, and sharing our journey as we rebuild and rebrand as Cake Babies, where our cakes are edible masterpieces- meticulously crafted with artistry and precision, not just in their stunning design, but in every luscious bite. We blend the finest ingredients with expert technique to create textures that melt in your mouth and flavors that dance on your palate, ensuring every bite is as exquisite in taste as it is in appearance.
